Temporary protection permissions extended to 4 March 2027
Temporary protection permissions were extended automatically to 4 March 2027, with no application required.
The Minister extended the immigration permission of all Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection in the State to 4 March 2027.
Who the extension covers
The extension applies to holders of a Temporary Protection Certificate, the yellow paper document, that was valid until 4 March 2026. It is automatic, with no application, fee or appointment required.
An earlier notice dated 23 December 2025 closed renewal applications for 2026 and said instructions for 2027 would follow.
For employers
Employees whose certificates show an expiry date of 4 March 2026 retain permission to work under the extension. Employers should keep Immigration Service Delivery’s notice on file alongside the certificate as evidence of the extended permission.
